In St. Petersburg, 36 teachers of Russian from 21 countries took an advanced training courses for teachers of the Russian language. The course was organized by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russian World Foundation and the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.
Lectures on Russian linguoculturology, difficult cases of Russian grammar, peculiarities of Russian accent and modern literary processes in Russia were held within the framework of the courses. Thanks to the inclusion of 15 variant disciplines in the program, teachers of Russian learned about new interactive technologies in the theory and methodology of teaching the Russian language and about the specifics of the perception of Russian culture.
Mary Manukyan, a young teacher of Russian in the Chisinau Theoretical Lyceum named after Saints Cyril and Methodius, shared her impressions of the training: «This is a truly unique experience of acquiring in-depth knowledge in the field of methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language, meeting philologists from other countries, discussing relevant problems and topical difficulties».
