Russian house in Nur-Sultan


On 16 September in Nur-Sultan, the experts will discuss the topic «Assessment of the situation in Afghanistan in the context of ensuring regional security in Central Asia.»

There are specialists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan among the participants. The event was organised with the support of the Russian House in Nur-Sultan. The event will be organised by the Analytical Research Center «Eurasian Monitoring» with the support of the Russian House in Nur-Sultan, News agencies «Sputnik Kazakhstan» and «Arguments and Facts Kazakhstan».

The main guest of the meeting is Vitaly Naumkin, the Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Doctor of Historical Sciences and the Professor.

The purpose of the event: assessment of the possible impact of the situation in Afghanistan on security in the Central Asian region, forecasts of the development of events.

During the discussion, issues such as an assessment of the current situation in Afghanistan from a global point of view, challenges and threats to the Central Asian region on the background of the destabilisation of the situation in the Afghan-Pakistani region and the existing risks because of the situation with the Afghan refugees will be discussed. The conversation will also focus on cultural and humanitarian cooperation as a tool for levelling negative consequences.

The expert dialogue will be held in a mixed offline + online format and will be broadcasted live on the Sputnik Kazakhstan website and on the YouTube channel.
