In the Argentine capital, the exhibition of photographs of the winners of the Andrei Stenin 2021 International Competition opened in the central hall of the Retiro railway station.

The ceremony was attended by Sandra Maillol, Executive Director of Argentine Railways, Tibo Desterac, President of «TMH Argentina», a subsidiary of the Russian «Transmashholding», representatives of the Russian Embassy in Argentina and the Russian house in Buenos Aires.

Olga Muratova, Head of the Russian house in Buenos Aires, noted that support for youth projects is one of the key areas of Rossotrudnichestvo's work. «The Russian house has traditionally supported this competition since 2019. Its participants, young photographers from 70 countries of the world, including Argentina, highlight in their works topical issues of our time, tell complex stories in a simple and understandable language – the language of photography», she stressed.

In 2021, the Stenin competition gathered more than 4,5 thousand works from 70 countries. The exhibition in Buenos Aires presents over three dozen photographs of young reporters from Russia, Spain, Mexico, China, Germany, Iran and other countries. The exhibition is held as part of the world roadshow of laureates. The Argentine stage presents the viewers with photo stories on a wide range of topics. Among them are global humanitarian challenges and issues of ethnic self-determination, environmental catastrophe caused by an unprecedented invasion of locusts in Africa and Asia over the past 25 years, COVID-19 pandemic, which has already claimed millions of lives around the globe, and others.

The exhibition in Buenos Aires will be open until January 23.
